Biography

Zoë Titchener and Mike Weston have been writing and performing together in the Midlands since late 1995. Having been the core of the successful local indie rock band Perk throughout several line-up changes, they made the decision to undertake a project alone in May 2000. Now free to indulge in a wider range of personal tastes and styles, they are producing some of their finest music to date.

The move to an acoustic line-up has led to a more stripped back, intimate sound, finding favour with Birmingham’s folk-rock contingent as well as younger fans who appreciate a good tune when they hear it. Sparse acoustic guitar interplays with Mike’s rhythmic bass lines, allowing space for Zoë to deliver the lyrical, melodic vocals that complete the Contact sound.

As prolific songwriters, Contact have recorded a number of self-financed projects, which they currently market privately. The studio material reflects aspects of the live, acoustic sound, alongside more expansive arrangements that transform live favourites into something new.

Contact currently have two available self-financed releases; 'Contact' (2001) and 'Find A New Home' (2004). Both can be sampled or purchased via Overplay.co.uk
